ABOUT US
What do we do?
We work primarily with rescue dogs from Paws to Peaks Rescue to get them ready for their forever homes. If you are looking to add to your family, now is a great time to adopt and all the dogs from Paws to Peaks Rescue are off leash trained so they can run all that bird dog energy off in addition to being basic obedience trained, kennel trained, house trained, socialized with other dogs and kid tested.
In the future we hope to be able to expand to board and train dogs outside of the rescue. Please check back with us with regards to board and training.
OUR SERVICES
Here at Get the Point, we like to do just that! We get right to the point of the training needed for each dog.
We diversify our training practices depending on the dog's past history and adjust to meet the dogs needs.
We strive to provide the best experience for our dogs while improving their obedience and overall training results.
We set short-term and long-term goals for each dog, and focus individually on what each dog needs after being brought into the rescue.
Gina is the primary trainer and runs Get the Point Dog Training which specifically prioritizes the rescue dogs who come into Paws to Peaks Rescue. Currently this rescue is SO busy, the house is full and unable to accept dogs outside of the rescue at this time for board and train.

In the meantime, we are happy to meet for a one-on-one training session if you live within a 2hour drive, or do a virtual google video call to discuss your training needs and walk you through step by step on how you may be able to accomplish your goals right from your own home.
A list of things we work on which can vary from dog to dog are: kenneling, loading up into the truck, e-collar training, leash training, basic obedience, retrieve training in and out of the water, water/swim training, SUP training, being calm in a boat, recall training, being calm around children, and positive interactions with other dogs.
ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING
Live in the area and want a one-on-one training session to work on specific tasks for your bird dog? This can include, simple things such as place training, not jumping up on people coming in the door, leash training, kennel training etc. We can also meet to start your off leash journey of getting your dog to be recall trained (ie come when you call them!) This will take multiple sessions to become fully off leash trained.
BOARD AND TRAIN
This can be in increments of a week at a time. You will meet with Gina and review your goals for your pup and Gina will discuss which ones are accomplishable within their boarding time-frame. This may be all of the goals or it may only be a few. BUT this is fully customizable to what you want from your bird dog.

Founder/Head Honcho
Gina is a certified in Pet Psychology through New Skills Academy and is working towards her certification as a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine-(CBCC), Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT), and Training through PUPford Academy. In addition she is involved in NAVHDA (North America Versatile Hunting Dog Association) and the surrounding Pheasants Forever Chapters in Montana. She is also the Pacific Northwest Coordinator for HerUpland.
